Stay At Home (2020)

23rd March 2020 is a date that will be forever recorded in history and that was the day we began this project. Mandy and I had made a new home for ourselves in Leeds but it had already been several months since we had visited our shared childhood home of Ramsgate and it was looking less and less likely that we would be able to see it anytime soon which served as inspiration for the art piece. We already knew that we wanted a wooden block piece for our bedroom wall but lockdown gave us our theme.

Using entirely recycled wood and doing the entire process by hand (including a lot of painstaking sanding courtesy of Mandy) took us over 100 hours in total to finish the piece.
